The book provides a unique insight into the eventful history of the company up to the end of the Weimar Republic and into the incredible story of the exceptional talent Bullus.

Writer Susanne Schartel, great-granddaughter of the Gehr family, skilfully interweaves the stories of her relatives with historical facts. She poignantly describes how fateful and memorable the first visit of the sympathetic unlucky Yorkshireman to the Vereinigte Fahrzeugwerke Neckarsulm in December 1929 was for both parties. In addition, Schartel allows the reader to participate in the eventful life of the Swabian entrepreneurial family as well as the most important motorcycle races and events of the time.

The richly illustrated biographical novel contains previously unpublished documents and photographs of the family estate.
